Took Genie to Bristol Driving Club Annual Show today, which was at a rugby club! The joy of perfectly flat rings....
We got there at silly am as our driver's horse was taking part in a driven class, so decided to whack Genie into the turnout as our first class wasn't for hours. Had her tacked up and was on her in record time, and was THRILLED when she won it! :-D The judge said that she could not have been turned out any better, so was really really pleased.
Then did my first ever in-hand class - Mountain and Moorland All Breeds, and I'm only doing it again if it's not so hot! We got 5th which I was really pleased with. She almost went to sleep in the ring.
After that we had a nice long break in the shade, and then it was the Ridden M&M, which they ended up splitting. However, having watched 14 other horses go, Genie was completely switched off and too hot so didn't show as well as she usually does. Can't say I blame her as I was also hot and bothered! Was very pleased however when we were pulled in 5th! Judge said she's lovely but I need to get her transitions better (which I know!)
We were going to do the ridden cob, but I withdrew her as it was hot and she was close to the point of having had enough, so I took her to the lorry and she had some time in the shade. We went into the championship but the judge had already made her mind up and we didn't even get glanced at. Disappointing but that's the way it goes and the horses that she chose were lovely.
So... photos!
First of all, two that are her attempt at the shiniest horse on HHO title!
At the lorry. How's she looking condition wise?
Not sure what I'm saying here....
Proof that we can stand still!
I really like this photo
I think I'm trying to stop....
Another one I really like! She looks huge though.... She's 14.3 1/2hh honest! We measured her yesterday!
CC most welcome!
