if you are still a driver on probation, i.e you have passed you test but have not held your licence for 2 or more years, and you gain 6 points are you disqualified from driver to and have to take your test again or is it more than 6? a little confused on the rules...does anyone know or help me?

i was caught doing 35 in a 30 and choose not to take the day course in safe driving as i thought it would be boring and then i got caught going through a red light that had been on for wait for it 0.9 seconds! had the letter in the post! its my own fault, but i dont like buses they are full of people with germs. better apply for my provisional again eh!! (flintus needs a hug or a chaffuer!)

ARGHHHHHHHHHh always take the course (even tho it costs more than paying the fine) - ho hum, lesson learnt - I would call the DVLA and see if you cannot take the course now and have the 3 points taken off.

do you reacon they would? worth a try isnt it. SHOULD it ver happen again i will be outside the office doors to be the first one in for the course! just my luck as well

Pete.....ALWAYS go for the course option if it's offered to you, you'd still have been on the road now

for sale Peugeout 106! ha

Well if mummy and daddy want to be THAT nice then one of them could take the points for you for this last offence

Of course that is HIGHLY illegal AND you prob had a photo taken of your face!

I had it happen to me a few years ago - got my second set of points 6 weeks before my 2 years would have been up.... the worst bit was they had made the test harder since I had first passed - took me nearly 3 months to get it back as I had to wait weeks to do my theory and book the test....

once you do get your licence back your probationary period is then 5 years - and you will still have the original 6 points on your licence for part of that so you need to keep your foot of the accelerator for a while....

I know you were kidding (well I think you were

) but would just like to say to anybody who ever thinks of doing this...

3 points and a fine, or even having to retake a test is one thing...

...a term of imprisonment for perverting the course of justice is quite another

absolutely rubbish for you... but look to re-book your test now and ask if there are any cancelations available. you could have another test and be driving again in a few weeks. if your nearest area is fully booked for months on end try the different areas around you. some have tests available the next week if you catch them at the right time.

OH NO! I only passed in August, and I try to be super carefull... More for the thoughts of paying to renew my insurance though! Bad luck and try again very soon!

Surely they will contact you soon?
