Hey all.

Slightly random but iv become interested in driving horses and I am looking to get into it...
Hopefully going for a taster lesson Sunday :)

Just wondering do you have to.pass any tests to drive on the roads? Are there legal implications if i was carrying passengsers & not just me?
Anyone know rough costs of carriages/carts/traps?
What are the best horses to drive? Anyone been in a proper horse & carriage for say a wedding, was it good? Does insurance differ from.a riding horse?

Thanks :)

Good for you, i hope you enjoy your taster session!!
You dont have to have to pass any test to drive on the road, although i suppose it is a good thing to do! and you may find it easier to get insurance if you do!
The insurance may be quite high if you carry passengers Unless it is family friends ect, you would have to ask different companies.
As for your other questions, well there are no real answers, you will have to choose your horse before buying a wagon/trap, and there are so many different types of both!!
We used to do wagon rides and weddings with our Shire, although he was a great horse i would recommend you got something a bit smaller to start :D
