I'd love to learn to drive but I have no idea where to start. My boy's not suitable so breaking him to drive is out. I don't trust him so I'm not even prepared to try (or risk anyone's life!!). Where do you learn?

List of UKCC coaches on British Carriage driving website, and LHHIs on the British driving society website :) What region are you in?

From a driving teacher there will some one near to you giving lessons .
The BHDTA ( being renamed BC , British driving ATM ) would help you find someone near also google there will be a local driving club who will advise as well.
I was lucky because I learnt after an accident I was on crutches for a long time and it was thought I was unlikely to ride again and we had a groom who was very experianced wirh driving so when I said do you think I could learn to drive she went on a mission to get me going.
It's great fun find someone and have a go .

If you go on BDS website you will find your local representative and they will be able to introduce you to driving.we got involved this way and were welcomed with open arms and had offers and advice on buying suitable equipment and even had the transport if a carriage delivered by them.(already had the pony)they are a very helpful bunch and very friendly.i agree that Andrew May is a great teacher too.

Having a slight disability, I was able to join my local RDA group who do carriage driving. I get it for free as long as I volunteer my time.

Most local RDA carriage driving groups are very happy to have additional help. They'll introduce you to the basics, particularly the really important safety stuff.
