Drooling

Has anyone ever known a horse that drools for no apparent reason. Our mare started this shortly after having a foal last year and has done it ever since. Its not froth from working it is proper saliva and it just drips out of her mouth. She must produce a couple of mug fulls a day. The front of her stable is always covered in saliva! It does not seem to bother her too much but she does try to spit it out occasionally! Anyone ever expeienced this or any idea as to what causes it?

i have a small area of marshy grass and in the summer when the starvation patch moved aruond to this bit of the field my ponies had this(drools) for a couple of days.i put it down to them eating this cos they were a bit hungry where as they normally would not have touched it.
it was the only thing i could think that caused it.
will probaly avoid this area in future.
