Trying to find a reasonably priced bridle with a drop noseband for my mare - she is ridden daily in an old shabby bridle with no noseband but we are going showing this weekend so want something a bit smarter for the day. Cannot find anything anywhere that isn't Stubben/Sabre/Jeffries and thus more than I really want to spend. I also dont really want to have to buy a bridle and then add a drop as I already seem to have a collection of flash nosebands I am never gonna use.

Can anyone recommened a bridle that can be bought with a drop that doesnt cost too much...? Or am I biting the bullet and buying something posh?

Thanks...!

Buy everything separately, it'll be cheaper. Drop nosebands are a nightmare to find, and the sizing can be very odd as well tbh... measure the size you need and specify that. I have a collection of drop nosebands and lend them when i first teach people, and they then have a total nightmare trying to source exactly the same size... it's a joke.
good luck, hope you manage to track one down!

Agree with Kerilli. Ive got a lovely stubben bridle & had the drop nb made to fit my gg who is all perculiar measurements anyway. Im a big fan of them, even though they're seen as quite old fashioned now. good luck x

If she's ridden with no noseband at the moment then why not put her in a nice flat caveson. (Maybe I am missing something?!) You can get plenty of nice caveson bridles for reasonable money. GFS do one and shire blenheim or shires james stirling - All around the £30 mark

GFS

I've just spent days looking for a nice drop and am finally going to get one made for him but that's because he is going well in a drop at home (but it's london tan and doesn't match at all

Unfortunately she doesnt like a cavesson, her adult teeth are coming in at the back and she objects strongly to even a loose cavesson. I had never noticed it until my friend took the noseband off and all her head shaking and tossing stopped. She is fine in a drop though. Silly mare!!!
