Drop Noseband Fitting

Sorry I'm sure there have been posts on this before but I can't find them! The chin strap should sit in the curb groove and below the bit? How tight, so I can easily fit two fingers? Thank you!!

yes, the nose band needs to sit high enough that it is on the bone and not the cartilagy bit of the nose or it'll hurt. It needs to be tight enough to stop the horse opening it's mouth so more than two fingers. Some horses really don't get on with them, personally I prefer a grakle basically does the same thing with out interfering with their nostrils which sometimes happens in a drop.
