Drop Nosebands & Fast work

I read somewhere that you should not use a drop noseband for fast work - is this true?

We dont do things like XC at the moment but we do go on the odd fun ride and do quite a bit of galloping then. Also can you use them for SJ? It is fitted correctly and has been checked by my instructor so it should not interfere with his breathing.

I am just wondering as I am debating over weather or not to sell my lovely Keiffer Bridle which has a flash on it, normally only use it for dressage but the browband and noseband match and it would look silly with a drop on it. So if I can use the drop for faster work and SJ then there would be no point in me keeping it

as long as it is fitted correctly you wont have a problem....

well, i've used them xc for years, no problems. as Scarlett says, as long as it's correctly fitted (4 fingers' width above top of nostril) it wont impinge on the breathing.

I used my drop for fast work on the weekend and he was no different - just a LOT better brakes!
