Managed to get out on road with a borrowed trailer from farm today for the first time ever ! It was so scary but exciting at the same time. Went for a drive for 40 mins empty then came back and put my horse in it and went back for out another 20 mins so I could get used to it with a horse in. Hoping to go out on Wednesday with mine and my sisters horse and go for a hack around a nice bridleway where we used to live. I'm nervous though already about the thought of it. Does it get easier in time ? It's so exciting though, I have so much more freedom now to go all over this summer.

I know i'm hoping to take my test soon once I get used to it. Okay to drive in it as long as have L plates on and someone who has had their driving licence before 1997.

A word of warning, it is illegal to tow weights above 3.5 tons on a category B license. You may tow a maximum of 4.25 tons if the maximum autherized mass of the towing vehicle is 3.5 ton ie: a transit type truck. Whilst on L plates you can not exceed 3.5 tons and trailer MAM must not exceed weight of towing vehicle. Sorry but that is the Law.
