Morning all,

My pony has tiny dry patches of skin on his muzzle, they don't look sore or anything but I wondered if putting something on the area would help alleviate it. I was thinking coconut oil as I use it on my dog for dry itchy skin, and what she doesn't lick off works wonders.
But I don't know if it is suitable for horses. Or is there a better product I could use?

I wouldn't put any type of oil on the thin shin around the muzzle as it is likely to fry and burn, something with a sunblock in at this time of year would be safer.

Hadn't thought of the burning potential thanks BP.

I wondered if sudocream would be suitable. Mine lives out 24/7 over summer and he's piebald so pink muzzle. I'll try sudocream tomorrow though I'm not sure he'd tolerate a mask though.

Sudocreme is fab, but it stings like hell on sore or broken skin. If hes not out 24/7 then I'd put the coconut oil on when you bring in, if hes out 24/7 then I'd use zinc and castor oil cream
