Hi Guys,

So I was grooming one of my retired tribe yesterday. When I noticed his ears inside look really dry and flaky skin . Not like oral plaque like dry skin. I have oddly never seen it before in any of my horse or him . What would be best to put on it ? I noticed red horse products do a balm for ears is it any good . Also has anyones else ever had similar before ?

Are you sure it's not aural plaques? They can look very like dry skin, and if it is that that, then I would leave it alone as it can hurt a lot to touch it and you can easily create a headshy horse.

My horse is losing hair on his ears but there's no sores or anything out of the ordinary. He also has lost some in the channel of his jaw, where he had a sore but his ears are fine. Could just be age?
