Does anyone have a drying coat for their dog? Would they recommend it?

I bought a Dog Robe for my elderly GSD before she passed away and now my other elderly GSD uses it. I always thought it was rather thin material for a towelling robe and decided not to bother buying another. With the dreadful snow, rain, sleet and endless mud of the past few weeks I got totally sick of mopping floors and walls so decided to try a different drying coat for my other, more active GSD. I went for a Ruff & Tumble and it arrived today. It is far superior to the Dog Robe in terms of thickness and usefulness. I am sure I will get plenty of use out of it and hopefully will spend less time mopping and wiping!

I bought a Dog Bag (i think that is what it was called) at hoys last year. It does rely on your dog sitting still for while, but it works well

I also love the equifleece jumpers, it keeps Stanley clean and dry although if he sees me with it he hides behind the sofa! SIL put her WC in a towelling bag on Sunday as the bitch was wringing wet after her adventures chasing pheasants. Much to my amusement, she managed to get her front feet out through the neck and with Stan hanging on the back for dear life, got it off. I wish I'd managed to get it on vid, it was hilarious!

The lady has sold her business, but there are similar on eBay etc. I don’t know what is up with their fur, probably thinner and crapper than the working dog’s fur, but put these on after a swim and they’re practically dry when we get home. The strap round the middle fastens with Velcro.

There is a FB page called 'drying coats for spaniels' the lady can make any size for different breeds, £5 from the sale of every coat goes to the charity Spaniel Aid UK. The outer is fleece (lots of different colours and designs) and the inner is microfibre towelling. Retail at approx half the mainstream makes and great quality.

My husband follows them on Facebook just to look at all the pictures of cute spaniels in their coats (he's worse than me, honestly). I keep pointing out to him that OUR spaniels might quite like one but we haven't got them yet! We have Equafleece jumpers - they are great and have lasted really well. Would prefer a coat though as less awkward to get on.

My girls both have Ruff and Tumble coats - I really rate their products and their custom service. They are both working dogs but after a wash and a rub down they sit down wagging their tails waiting for their coats on. I do have a thermatex dryingg bag - I tend to stick them in those in their dog box on the way home from a shoot day, then wash and drying coat on when I get home.

We use mainly Hotterdog jumpers, which i believe is manufactured by Equafleece, but branded differently & about a tenner cheaper. Equafleece do slim fit tho, which Hotterdog don't, so those tend to be better for male dogs - unless you want to find a little puddle in their jumper!

Another vote for Ruff and Tumble drying coats, my 2 have one each ad they are a god send - especially for the bog wallowing terrier.
I've also got their drying mitts for paws and horses legs and face's.
Brilliant customer service, I only wish they would make a horse version!

Equafleece for me - dry the dogs off quickly and dry out quickly for reuse

I must be the only one who found Ruff and Tumble coats crap, they slipped (despite being fitted by the staff at the stand when I bought at a show!) and always seemed to stay damp against the dog, then the binding started to unravel within a year - not impressed at all

Are yours ESS? Mum had the same issues with her spaniels - I think they move around too much for them.

I was going to make my own out of towelling - with full legs and under belly that either zip or Velcro on the spine - I can't seem to find any that do the ideal design for a wet working dogs legs and under belly. Perhaps it can be my million dollar idea if my test run works 😂

Yes, kennel/house full of Springers. I do Equafleece jumpers under their coats if they're really muddy but we do have a hot dog wash bay on the shoot (Alabama Rot was my bargaining tool!) so generally can get them petty clean before they go in the dog box on dry vetbed to go home
