We seem to have conquered our loading problems at venues with the aid of a bit of Monty Roberts. A friend who is excellent at sorting loading problems out loaded my pony for me this morning after an xc clinic. As a result, we now know that the dually headcollar works and I am keen to get one so we can practice and get the loading sorted for once and for all.

I am just slightly confused at sizing. I THINK the mare needs a small because she is a fine 15.3hh Anglo Arab x ISH with a pony like head and her bridle is a john whitaker cob size with the buckles near the top of the holes on her cheek pieces. The sizing says small is up to 15.2hh fine head. Does a small sound about right? Don't want to get the wrong one!!

Mines in a black one. Medium. He's 14 2 sec d with a fine head. He's still in a pony size normal headcollar.
I got a red dually and has to send it back as it was too small.

I have a 14.1 cob - she has a red dually (small size), I also have a 15.1 17mth warm blood x - he has the largest size which he will grow into. The blue dually is big but just abouts fit my warmblood but the small dually I bought for my cob I wish I went up a size because I think they are small in size.

Mine is in a black and he is 13.2hh. The red was too small on him, we were on the last holes and the rope over his nose was very tight!

Oh dear... some varied answers here!!
Do you know anyone with a Dually that you could borrow to try for size? Would be your best bet.
For the record - my 15.3hh ISH has the black dually - it was a bit stiff and seemed snug to begin with but has now given a little and fit her fine. Her bridle size is full and from what I remember, I think the dually website says the large dually (is it blue?) is massive and for really big horses.

I would also go for a medium - I have one (black) and has fitted all horses it has been used on, varying from a 14.1 cob with a pony head, a 15.2hh cob with a more 'cobby' head, to a 16.1 tb with a fine head.

Also to bear in mind, a Dually needs to be fit snugly to be effective.

Why don't you just measure your horse's head?
