Dubarry boot maintenance

Evening all
I was given some lovely dubarry boots for christmas and was wondering if anyone had any hints or tips for helping them to last as long as possible. They were a bit of an investment and I hope to get a good few years out of them and won't be mucking out in them as they'll mainly be used for spectating. Are the conditioners made by dubarry any better than a bog standard leather cream?

The dubarry leather cream in the tube is excellent and worth using my yard dubarrys are in their third winter of yard labour and still going strong .

JustKickOn - I should have put in my op I've already read that and didn't find it hugely useful as it seemed like common sense stuff and them selling products (or maybe me being thick!). Thanks anyway though

Wash off any sea salt, pee, anything that isn't just rain, let them dry naturally and slowly and use copious amounts of the Dubarry leather cream.

I swear there's a cheaper non-named brand that does the same thing but I use the Dubarry spec cream, worth the little bit of extra money and my boots are 4 years old this Spring with heavy outdoor use.

My old pair are also 4 years old and get worn through everything they are on their second set of soles plenty of Dubarry cream i also use nic wax brown to keep the colour and I swill them out inside once a year with nic wax Tech wash that cleans and revitalizes Gore Tex and swill them out with Nic Wax wash in re proofer mine are still totally waterproof.
