What do people recommend for cleaning and protecting these? Recently got a pair of Clare boots and have just slapped some saddle soap on them but wondered if there was something better or whether I should buy a Dubarry product..and if so which one.
Thanks!

There is a Dubarry spray. Ebay sellers get around keyword spamming by listing "Country boots with Dubarry spray" so people will pick up their listings when searching for Dubarry boots!

You can get other brands of waterproofing spray for leather/nubuck boots though, just go into any shoe shop or outdoor shop, they will be able to sell you something.

I wouldn't use saddle soap as thats supposed to soften leather, which you dont want because they will just buckle at the ankles

Just clean them of with a damp cloth removing mud, Leave them to dry naturally and then buy some Natural Dubin, this will re waterproof them and keep them clean and protected

I bought some cream from Dubarry leather cream when I bought my boots, it was quite expensive at £9.50 but it's lastest ages and cleans my boots up well.

I got this too! In fact I bought 2 tubes as thought I would get through it quickly ( I use it once a week or maybe 2weeks) I have still not finished the first tube & I got it in August! You only put it on sparingly & conditions the leather really well.

Do you wear them to ride/work in??

I cant decide if I shoudl get a pair, as I dont want to have them and be afraid to wear them!
