Does anyone use the footwear treatment on them??

Last pair I had I never treated at all, only had a hose down to get crap off,was never out of them and had them nearly 4 years before they split.

Hubby has brought me a pair for our wedding anniversary and saying to treat them this time,is the treatment any good???

I use Nikwax on mine, which is great as you can use it on wet leather. The Dubarry stuff is hopeless if you use your boots most days as the boots have to be washed before treating and then you are supposed to leave them at least 24 hours to dry, which means that you can't treat them very often! Nikwax is a better product anyway and works out cheaper than the Dubarry stuff. They do the treatment for the smooth leather and the nubuck.

Yep Nikwax is good - my Dubarrys I wore all the time and they lasted about 3 years before they both split. My anniversary is not until March and I'm usually only treated to dinner - How do I make hints for a £250+ pair of boots?! Mind you its 18 years next time......
