Dubarry boots

Hmm, my Dubarrys split from the sole in about 2.5 years. I have a cheapo pair of country boots that needed breaking in as in not comfortable to start with, but are proving to last much longer than the Dubarrys as three times the price.

I love my Dubarrys. My pair are about 7 years old and yes, they have cracked a bit over the toe. I use Ko-cho-line on them to nourish the leather which helps a lot. Would definitely have another pair :)

I love mine, BUT I developed Tendonitis in my right achilies and I couldn't work out why, took months of training etc.

Wore my Dubarrys for a weekend and was hobbling - they put pressure on my achilies where they sagged and it was them that was causing the problem. I find them comfy, but not for wearing all day if you're walking alot.

I would of course have another pair as I do love them but I might get a size down if I can slim my calf.

I wouldn't be seen dead in a pair, they've gone a bit chavvy.

OH and I both have them and use them for the yard/foot following etc. and they are awesome

But know what you mean, at burghley its seemed to the ladies uniform of short tweed skirt, tweed jacket (matching) coloured shirt and Dubarry's.

Shame as great reliable boot

No! I'm on my fourth pair, each time at around a year they split between the sole and the leather. The last pair lasted longer but then went accross the toe. And yes, i do treat them with the recommended stuff :0(

Gave up last winter and bought some Dublin River Boots for £90 at Blenheim and they haven't split at all, but neither are they totally waterproof.... !

Myn also went across the toe at just over a year old  (so did 2 of my friends pairs) ..I really don't think they are worth £300, you're paying for the label really. I noticed that dublin do a strikingly similiar pair at half the dubarry price, dublin river boots I believe they're called.

Yes love mine! Wear them every day, clean them with the proper stuff (the leather cream in the tube is fantastic), 2 years on they are looking great. However I don't wear them to the yard or around the farm, more for walking the dog, working (event photographer) and anywhere that doesn't involve too much mud... still live in them though!

Best Boots I have ever Worn I dont Care If they are "chavvy" they work as they should my old pair are 3 years old second set of soles only slight cracking over the toes they are still totally waterproof and have never let in a drop of water. Tidy Pair 18 months old and look like brand new.

They have been worn through everthing but properly looked after with Dubarry products and I wash them out once a year with Goretex cleaner and reproofer and I live in them.
Mine havent gone baggy but I propper legs to hold them up not Chicken Legs;)

I have tried cheaper Country Boots and in the past and the only boots that come anywhere near would be Cabotswood Burford boots but they look like site wellies Short and baggy on my legs or possibly Toggi Hamilton Boots but the WP membrane in them is not a full sock and eventually the seal breaks down and water gets round underneath it and comes up into the foot of the boot:eek:

Had the dublin river boots they started leaking at just over a year old so replaced them, next set did exactly the same. Bought some Dubarry boots 3.5yrs ago and they still look smart and no leaks. However I do prefer my Le Chameau wellies as they are far more comfortable so would probably go for their country boots next.

Plenty more decent boots to choose from nowadays. Can't see the fascination myself. As I say, far too common and from the sounds of the reviews, not worth your husbands money.

Tell you what, if the money is burning a hole in your pocket, forget your Dupe-a-Harry's, get yourself a pair of these... now, THESE are BOOTS mate!

:D

I love my Dubarry boots. I've had 2 pairs now. I never look after them properly so they only last about 2 years before they fall to pieces but I wear them all the time and even ride in them when I'm feeling lazy. They are my one little extravagance, after all, if my horse can have £75 shoes every couple of months then I can have £300 boots every 2 years.

However, having said all of this I saw a pair of the Le Chameau long leather boots during the summer and quite liked them so was thinking of perhaps having those this time for a change.

If you. Get R m Williams boots make sure they don't squeak, hubby's had two pairs or their Market boots and both developed an annoying squeak,
