Dubarry Claire boots - how long will they last??

Hi I'm debating buying some dubarry boots as I'm fed up of cold feet in the winter- how long do they last if well looked after? Warranty is only for a year and if I'm paying out a couple of hundred quid really want some boots that will last for 5 years +. Any feedback would be v helpful
 
I have Dubarry Galway Boots my old pair are 3 years old and were resoled earlier this year, they have been worn through everything but they have been properly looked after, all the Dubarry leather treatments and once a year I wash them out with nic wax detergent for goretex that revitalises the GT , and then swill them out witrh Nic wax GT reproofer.
I cannot understand people who buy expensive boots only to neglect them:confused: and then moan that their boots havent lasted. Mine have never let in a drop of water and having tried seemingly all the cheaper imatations have to say they are the real deal that works, and for the wear that I have had out of them they are not that expensive
 
I was disappointed with my Dubarry's, they lasted two years.

Completely understand what HOC is saying, but in my opinion the leather just isn't of good enough quality to be a working boot.

My husband still has his Dubarry's, they must be about six years old now, he wears them probably five times a year, are treated with urad everytime they are worn, but they don't look great, and have been re-soled once.

I personally think there are other equally smart boots out there for the same money or less.
 
My daughters lasted just about a year. She cared for them properly with all the recommended products, but she did wear them every day around yard, riding and walking dogs. Not for mucking out. She was very disappointed with them. She bought them for the same reasons as you, but they are not a working boot,
despite being marketed as such.
