Any of you helpful HHOers able to help me with a guide to the fit of these boots? I quite fancy the Dubarry Clare...

I have a wide calf and a high instep meaning the bridge of my foot is quite high. I have a pair of Toggi Calgary boots I had to buy in Wide fitting, they fit perfectly with thick winter breeches underneath.

My calf is 107cm/42" at widest point, will that mean there is no hope of them fitting?

Any feedback greatly appreciated (before I get my hopes up too much) ;)

Have you looked on the Dubarry website?

I tried the Clare's, but I wouldn't get them on with my jods on, so am leaving it until there is less leg lol. I don't know if they were standard ones though.

Good luck, I think they are lovely boots :D

I dont know about the Clare's but the Wexfords fit me and I have (quote from the local girl at my saddlery whilst I was trying to find long riding boots) ''the fattest legs in the world''. I am only a size 12 but have very chunky legs...

I have always found Dubarry service to be very good, so I would drop them an e-mail and they will help.

My calf's are 100% muscle, not matter how much weight I lose the muscle always remains sadly, just wish my inside thighs had the same amount of toning lol :( I hate them, they developed when I used to show jump on ponies and wont shift. Think rugby players legs and your about there. Although many women have commented on how beautifully toned my legs are hmmm ;)

I prefer the Clare as I would like to be able to ride in them often also.

I shall give them a ring and ask, I am thinking of stocking them in my shop anyway...I hate paying full price for anything lol, every time I want a brand I get it in my shop first so I can buy it at trade. Yep I am that cheapskate lol :D :o

Thanks for the help ladies :)

Hummm, yes, I think I gave her a 'death look' and she didn't really talk much after that!!

I am like you thouhgt, my legs are all muscle - I am a squash player, rider and runner so strong legs are a must! I do have a blooming nightmare when it comes to boots though!

I have a similar issue with fashion type boots, and riding boots with shaped tops are nightmarish for me - my legs are just a bit longer so the 'in' bit bites into the widest part of my calf muscle:mad:

No one has ever dared say anything though... I must have the look of a potential psycho down pat:D

Haha, lucky you - fashion boots and riding boots seldom get to the ''in bit'' they usually stop zipping half way up!!

I got them for my bd a few months ago, they felt very tight then and still do, should have asked for something else.

I have them and I actually find them very roomy on my calves....I do love them, but am on my 3rd pair since October, as they dont appear to be made to survive horsey stuff!! Thankfully, Dubarry have excellent after sales and have replaced them each time.....

The 3rd pair are brand new in the box...I think I am going to wear them on special occasions only and get something cheaper/more rugged for every day usage!

Goodness, I'm surprised to hear that... I think it would take a nuclear missile to destroy my Wexfords!!!
