Mum has just told me she gets Dubarrys half price

So she has offered to buy me a pair.

Which ones do you recommend? I absolutely love the Dubarry Galways boot in walnut. Although the calf seems quite wide as it goes further up...

Thoughts?

Can you ride easily in the Galway boot, or is there a better type for riding in??

thanks for any help - I'm almost annoyed we are coming into summer now...

I have these because they are designed for riding in. I have always found the leg a little wide in the Galways but that might be because I have such big feet! The Clare boot fits me a lot better and is just as comfortable in the foot, I can still wear them easily with jeans too.

Ahh, is the calf quite wide on that? It looks quite chunky...I've got muck boots designed for riding in although I don't usually ride in them, and just wanted something a bit more slimline, as the calf is wide on the muckboots...is the fitting good on the clare boot?? I might go in somewhere and try both type on if I can. thanks for your help.

Mine are no way near as wide as my galways but I can easily get jeans on with them too. I don't find them too loose to ride in though and having the rear zip means they fit a lot better round the ankle. Derby house have a better pic.

They are great and i don't find them too wide. I ride in them too

Oooh - a conflicting view!! Must go and try both types on then, and see which ones I like best...

thanks.

I would kill for dubarrys.
I actually would.
I saved for ages to get some from Burghley last year but came home with a champion hat and xc colours for the new horse instead =S

its really annoying I love the look of the dubarrys but i tried some on and my foot is too narrow and feels like its swimming in the boot, oh well, back to hunters with thick socks it is

Manic mare, I have narrow feet and cannot afford Dubarry's so I have Dublin River boots instead and they are fine for my feet. I have an insole in them, but then they are really comfy. And they look really similar.

Would kill for a pair of Dubarry's unfortunately I cannot justify it as I bought these boots a few months ago. Very comfy.

I've got a pair of those !

They are a little bit wide in the leg but are the most comfortable boots I've ever had - love 'em.
Had a pair of Dubarry's, sold them after wearing them twice - highly over rated IMHO.
