Sorry to put a downer on things - as I know these boots have a fab reputation . . . but to be honest im really not very impressed with mine!!! Had them last xmas, and ok they've had quite a hard life (im an event groom) i wear them almost every day and they get pretty fithly - but me (or mum!lol) cleans them at least twice a week . . . . and they have just 'fallen apart' for the second time!!!!!

I sent them back to Dubarry in August as the stiching had come un-done on the inside seam, and was letting water in, they very kindly repaired them (still under guarante) and they seemed ok. I have come home today with soaking wet, cold, feet to find three splits/holes where more stiching has come un-done!! Not impressed!
Im sending them back again and they are hopefully going to send me a new pair. Dont get me wrong, I really do love these boots as they are so warm and comfy after being on the yard all day . . . but for £200 you expect them to last longer than this, and i think ive looked after them quite well! Wondering if ive had a dodgy pair??!
Anyone else experienced problems with their dubes????

Oh it does sound like you have just been unlucky with your pair. I bought mine 3 years ago and they are worn in the same manner as yours - they see wet, dirt, poo .....the lot. However mine are still going strong and when they do get cleaned (about once a year) they look brand new. Nothing is leaking on mine and no stitching has come undone.

Wishing you well with your new pair.

Mum has had a similar problem with hers, had them 2yrs now and they leak like anything and she never wheres them in mud if possible and doesnt muck out in them (immonia (sp?)rots them) Turns out theres a hole in the gortex or something like that which is all that keeps them water proof and she rung dubarry up and because its over the 1yr garantee its just tough!!!! very annoying and not very impressive

Oh thats really unfortunate. I have had mine since GYS 2004, and mine are still in great condition. Ride, muck out in them, and then mum is always in them as well, so they have had their wear, but I soap them almost evey night.

Stop it, you are blowing my dreams of having a pair. I spose its a good thing because i cant afford them anyway. I have never heard anything like that about that, so you probably do just have a duff pair. Hope that your new ones are better!

It could be that you've been unlucky but if they're taking a real hammering on a day to day basis, then its perhaps worth considering to clean and treat them more.

Leather thats exposed to the wet and mud continuously does suffer and as Rosie said, ive always cleaned mine daily and then treated them probably twice a week (this was learnt the hard way after destroying a few pairs of nice boots through not looking after them.)

i have had mine coming upto a year and have had no problems whatsoever. they rarely get cleaned (the odd splash with the hose from me and a proper clean by my mum occasionally) and are worn everyday, twice a day. I love them, wouldnt be without mine. Maybe you got a faulty pair? or i got a really good pair? one of the two!

No problems with mine either.... do everything in them, wade through muddy fields, muck out, ride, go shopping in them etc etc.....

OH bought new pair at Burghley this year, the new design with the zip and popper, and within a few weeks the popper had fallen off.... so they will be going back to no doubt be repaired!

Mine have ben used and abused for 12 months as well and no signs of splits leaks or problems. I clean them once in a blue moon but hose them off daily.
