Bit of a fact finding mission here ;)

My OH has been approached about taking a minimum 6 month job in Dublin.

As far as somewhere to live is concerned anywhere within a 20 mile radius or a max of a 30 - 40 minute commute either by car or by train would be ideal.

I am thinking that if I am going to be there for at least six months it would make sense to move Vardi to be with me for that period, so any suggestions of good livery yards.

I still need some help with him so someone who is good with slightly tricky horses would be perfect.

Tis all a bit of a voyage of discovery at the moment and I am just trying to check the logistics ;)

I'm not near Dublin myself, but there is an Irish website called donedeal.com that has a horse related section. They often advertise livery yards so you might find some useful info there! Good luck!

Do you know what area of Dublin the job will be in, as this will influence whether you look for accommodation north or south of the city and therefore the range of livery facilities available.

I've a few clients from Dublin, and they tell me finding a really good yard is very difficult. Slightly further out you'll find more range - Kildare/Meath etc. Grainne Sugars at Calliaghstown would be good. There's masses of rental property around. Hope you are ready for the 23% VAT though!

I'd avoid DoneDeal with two barge poles ... :( I'd also avoid the M50 if you can for your commute - it usually resembles a car park!
