Hi, anyone had any experience of Duckhurst Farm as a livery yard?? Thinking about moving there as the indoor school is calling for winter!

Thanks, I've searched on here and looked at most of the threads but it all seems to be about their sales reputation which I'm aware of and peoples opinions on it as a competition venue but nothing about the livery yard. I wouldn't buy a horse from there but that doesn't mean that they can't run a decent livery yard does it? Please correct me if I'm wrong!

We hire the indoor sometimes in the winter to use all the showjumps. The yard seems a very busy diy yard, with lots of horses in and out and lots of kids. Whenever I visit I tend to keep myself to myself, so don't really come across anyone else. Have to say, when you hire the school, it is always empty and you never get any hassle.

thanks greenlivery, ive just been up there to speak to the lady who runs it. The reason no one is in the school when you hire it is because the liveries are not allowed in there when you do - fair enough I think as you've paid for it. She seems nice enough and it is no more expensive than where I am, just hopefully with less hassle! I need to think about it but we will see.

She used to do alternate days turnout as there are not many acres of land with the yard. Geldings one day and mares the next. Not sure what it's like now. I wouldn't go anywhere without daily turnout (my horses would go mental!) But if that suits your horse. I am near maidstone and know of some good yards - willing to travel that far?

This might still be the case as whenever I hire the school, the yard is always full and horses are always in.
