Missed the .85 as we got there too late so put Blue in the .95 and he went clear and then knocked 2 poles in the jump off - one was the back pole of a spread and i thought we were both gonna hit the deck as he hit it with his front legs and then stumbled on landing

Came 4th think there were only about 8 in it though! Was pleased with him though as that is only his 3rd show this season and he's not jumped since March before that...

The pics are on

go to your photos, then the link "duckhurst trailblazer 01-10-06, and then class 3. We are the coloured in the 3rd, 4th and 5th photos

I might just come along and watch then, if you don't mind? Would love to have brought Otto but have a clinic on the Saturday so I can't ask OH to take me out two days in a row. Gina does her Trailer Test in Nov so hopefully things will be a bit easier after then. Do they usually have a clear round before the class just for future reference?

Hi Lis, sorry you missed the .85, there were not many people there today.

I was very pleased with my boy, I came 2nd in .75. Had two poles down in .85 but my fault (sack the rider) I got him too close to the jump.

I said hi to JH58. How did you get on in .85? I watched you go clear in jump off but left before the end.

Wasn't someone else supposed to be there today, can't remember their name though?

It was a real HHO affair then, I also met Randira and her lovely mare and Sarah. Next time we'll have to look out for you and say hello

How could you miss us, lol! Erm I can't remember what no. I was! No-one was putting their numbers up so I just went straight in after I had a jump! Sorry, I didn't see anyone else go. It was all rather quick paced, especially as 2 weeks ago we had a good hour wait inbetween, this time we did 3 rounds without even cooling off! LOL!

Are you going for the next one? Perhaps we will see you then!

on another note, have to say how un-impressed I am of Duckhurst now...think its really gone down hill!!! Went to watch the novice show on Sat, as friend was doing last classes and OMG how appalling...as it was a novice show, OK i understand you dont have to look as smart as normal, but an employee girl (who apparently is meant to be an instructor) rode one of the horses in and was aloud to wear tracksuit bottoms and short t-shirt that showed half her belly and to top it off rode like a sack of P**.....also other things not directly related to the place, but some of the tack of bits and bobs I saw on some poor little ponies...1 boy had a 3ring gag on upside down, jumped in it, somone did mention it to him (which good job to otherwise i would have) but then proceded to ride like it anyway....where do these people come from....erghhhhhh

and well as for the warm up ring, well what can I say...

sorry prob not a good thing to do, but had to rant...egrhhh

Thanks Beck. Was really please with Murphy, we did a cracking turn. Had OH watching and only one pony did the turn. I missed another turn which would have saved me loads more time. He was a very good boy yesterday.

Can you please PM the name of the employee girl you're talking about if you know? Want to see if its who i think it is!

And
tongue.gif
to you when i used to work there i used to jump in jodhs and a jumper or t-shirt although in my defence i was only young and could not afford to buy show stuff!!

PS Definitely agree about the warm up Blue hates jumping in there as the dips on either side of the practice fences are so large!

sos dont know names - oh agree with not being kitted out totally for novice shows as little kiddies cant often afford these things, but i just think it would be nice for employees to at least make a good impression infront of them - thought she was actually gonna jump in trainers, but changed at last minute....

It's all about the image the place gives...even a nice matching t-shirt that all employees wear would look smarter...

I agree it's a bit 'rough and ready' but I've been going there for years and years and it's always been the same! Plus, my horses have always gone well there. I agree the warm up is dire, but I haven't seen it cause problems. Also the bonus side of it being a bit tatty is that it's always very relaxed and friendly.

Because my horses always seem to do well there I would chose it over some other venues anyday!
