Dumb saddle question...

Just wondering what is the difference between Event saddles and others?? I've got the saddle fitter coming out Thursday and I've been highly recommended the Falcon Hawk Event as a good allrounder and they do a high wither style that could suit my boy.

So what's the difference between this and a GP etc?

im not totally sure tbh but ill have a crack at it.

i think its more forward cut than a GP, even more than a jump saddle. also i think it has bigger knee rolls than a jump saddle for security.

The falcon hawk event is essentially a GP, perhaps fractionally more forward cut but by no means a pure jumping saddle. It is a lovely all round saddle, I'm sure you will like it!

Fitter is bringing one out on Thurs - just a bit worried it might be too cut forward on his shoulders but we shall see.

I think they're more forward cut slightly, but have bigger knee rolls than usual GP's. Ive had 2 Event saddles in the past (as my GP) and find them very comfy but I did need to buy a dressage saddle in the end for flatwork because of the forward cutness. I guess it depends on the saddle though. They're not nearly as "close contact" or little as a pure show jumping saddle!
