Can anyone recomend anywhere that will train a stallion to collect? I know someone on HHO was saying there was a new service being offered where they'd come to you but I can't remember who it was!

We're in devon so obviously the closer the better...

Thanks

Its AndyPandy that does that

Thanks - have emailed him... It doesn't say whether they only do home visits within a certain range or not so have asked him for more info... Otherwise will have to send the boys there which isn't the end of the world but will involve convincing other half that it's worth him taking a day off work to transport them!

Thanks

And there is my next question... Any recomendations for buying these wonderful dummy mares?

OH is a builder/welder/carpenter and has built all our stables and our stocks and is keen to build the phantom mare too - but is there any thing he needs to know before he starts... Or are we better off buying one? Obviously the AV will have to be bought.... I'm not sure exactly what a phantom consists of....!

PM me as I have some dummy mare "blueprints" that I could send you. I don't think HG was being sarcastic, your OH does sound like the ideal person to build it.

No sarcasm at all, just being a welder and carpenter sounds like a perfect combo for building a dummy mare to me, as I believe they are basically a metal frame with wood, then covered

I haven;t actually looked at one that closely underneath

Sorry HG - I thought I was missing an in-joke or something - been on far too many bitchy forums that I get overly suspicious! I've seen pics of them but like you haven't really delved into the 'guts' of them!

AndyPandy - have just emailed you my original mail that I sent to the wrong address!

No offense taken Rollestone, has part of the practical joking twins of the forum, I am not surprised that people expect everything I say to have a joke attached to it... I can be sensible sometimes honest

The 'proper' ones are hideously expensive! There are plans for building one - http://www.equine-reproduction.com/articles/phantomplans.htm I'm SURE Chris could do it!

Oh I wish that website had been around when I was dummy-hunting last year! I ended up buying a hideously expensive 'proper' one!
