no upper height limit on a D so depends on the parents! mines 14.2 I believe fihunts is 14.3 or 15

Deane Valley breed some amazing welsh D's, they have two stallions just over 16hh and theyre amazing

It dpends how a welsh D is bred wether it can pull it off or not. They need to be cobbier with lots of bone imo.

p.s. i think decent section ds over 15.2 are hard to find. but i have seen a gorgeous 16.1 section d before so they are out there. like someone said above, they need to have lots of bone to maintain that welshness.

Yup you're right Ester! Genie's 14.3 1/2hh! There's one I see regularly at local shows that is 15.3hh, but doesn't look it. Must admit I'm personally not too keen on them any bigger than that, although the upper hight limit has been removed...
