Does anyone have a horse with this? My big guy has just been diagnosed (he’s also allergic to a few other things) and I was hoping for some advice on managing him day-to-day.

so far I have:
Move stables so he’s away from where dust gathers on top of the tack room etc

change to dust extracted bedding

wipe down tops of stables weekly

soak all hay and feed

wash rugs weekly

any other tips would be much appreciated

Dust mites like to live in your horses rugs. So if too rug up you need to frequently wash and dry the rugs on a hot wash and dry somewhere warm (mites struggle in hot/dry conditions). Old rugs can harbour both live and dead mites so before putting them away for the summer clean thoroughly as previously described and store individually in either an airtight container or sealed plastic bag.

hope this helps
