Dusty hay - what do i do?

ok so i keep my hay at home in my own mini hay barn as i dont use my yards hay but i picking it up to put in the car and quite a bit of dust flew off it
does this mean i will have to soak it? its not mouldy just a tad dusty?

Very much depends on your horse & how dusty the hay is.

All year old hay will have an amount of dust, most horses and ponies will cope with this, especially if fed from the ground.

However if you horse is sensitive to dust or the hay is very dusty then you will need to soak it before feeding it.

I tend to soak the hay for mine. Just put it in the barrow and put a few buckets of water over. I'm sure plenty of horses are fine with it, but mine tend to get snotty noses so prefer to soak!
