I have just bought a dutch horse, recently imported, not a KWPN but KNHS. Everyone I have spoken to has never bothered to update the dutch passport to their own name - does anyone know how to go about this - do you need to send the original back to Holland?
Secondly, do I need a UK passport or is the dutch one sufficient as it is within EU?
Thanks for any help.

i've got a dutch horse with dutch passport. haven't changed ownership on it as it isn't ever proof of ownership anyway and i can't understand a word it says!!! did speak to a freind who lives over there and i would have to send it back to them etc.
far to complicted for me!!!

Legally, regardless of how awkward it is, you do need to update it.

I bought a dutchy, with a dutch passport...
Turned out she was in foal... but passported as a gelding.
Ooops!
Got her a rubbish English one made up x

easy solution- just send it off to the sports horse society to get if overstamped/altered. Sure you can do that. My horses passport is polish but is overstamped by weatherbys as he was a racehorse!

As donklet says legally you should change details, law changed as of 1st of this month, there is a 28 day perioid of grace for details to be updated
