DVLA - AAGH

Does anyone know how you get to speak to a human, my enquiry does not fit the criteria of any option and the whole effing system is automated! I have tried 8 times now and am ready to throw the phone out the window!

I usually find pressing the wrong buttons on the phone such as the # key etc, tends to bypass the automated switchboard.

Tried that as well, nothing. It is driving me absolutely mad, I need this sorted and boy do they make it infuriatingly difficult

Hi I dont know if this is of any help but if you go here
http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php and put DVLA in Company name you get loads of alternative numbers

Doesnt address the questions I have, it is rather more complex than a standard SORN, tax etc as combines several of these in one go!

I LOATHE the DVLA. They make it impossible to get answers, or anything resolved, and then fine you huge amounts for failing to keep your paperwork up to date. I also love the way they sell your private info to clampers, should be illegal.

try pressing * 0 several times as that can put you through to a human on many automated systems. If that doesn't work then try #0

Siennamum you are dead right. Would be interesting to take a case to court regarding fines especially if you could prove you had tried and tried and tried to sort it but the dvla system had prevented you. Guess it would cost a fortune in legal fees but the satisfaction you would get if you won could be well worth it!!!

they are totally useles!!! i had alot of problems with them when a car i did not own or had never owned was clamped and crushed and they decided i owned and kept send me fines and even sent the bayliffs round!!! when all they had to do was contact a different depatment !!! who then needed to send instructions to the bayliffs to stop hassleing me!!! alot of hassle for a car that i have never owned that was registered in Bridgend (i have never even been there !!) and i live in Scotland!!!

This particular vehicle is currently off the road and a previous owner declared it SORN, it has been sold twice since being declared SORN, each time the log book has been changed to the new registered keeper but not once has it been pointed out that the vehicle is not taxed/needs the new owner to declare it is off the road! What a shambles

Go to the office - if it's a real live person you want to speak to. Our local one is great, didn't have to wait long on the occasions I have had odd/peculiar queries, all sorted and with a smile.
What they don't know, they go and ask - sorted.
Soooooo much quicker than sitting on the phone and that just about includes the 40 mile round trip!!

I am going to have to go to the local office anyway but needed to know some facts before I went. Crazy system, last time I had to go to the local office the queue was huge and not the nicest of places to be.
