Awww ze poopies are tute :p ... I must say I actually prefer the build of the Workingline dogs!! They look a bit sturdier/upright through there hind ... If that even makes sense at all

Aww that giganta bear ginger and black one is just adoreable!!

Yes I am fully aware that is not the correct colour terminology, but dont have a clue what is correct LOL

That's the idea Nicole, more uniformity in type, the working dogs need their forehands improved (although the dogs above are correct) and the showlines, well, let's not get into that old argument again :p

He is not cute, he is the demon child from hell and he has chased the cat twice today, once just now in the dark, so had no idea where I was, I had images of him falling down the back embankment.
You know how I lecture people about not letting puppies jump on and off the sofa? Nada.
I take heart in the fact that my former demon child, no less than an hour ago, responded to a voice command, out of sight, within spitting distance of the same bloody cat....

Black and gold in the old days Lexie, now black and red gold/black and red, or as I saw on another website the other day...black and MAHOGANY - it's a dog, not a bloody sideboard....

I am going to get a tee-shirt printed up:

On the front: HE'S NOT FAT, HE'S FLUFFY
On the back: NO HE ISN'T A *******ING GROENENDAEL

Instead of going around saying 'does my bum look big in this' I was wondering around asking random people 'do you think my puppy is fat?!'

So i did make sense, woooo :p ... So are the show type more popular than working ones? Iv only ever seen showy ones tbh!! I would quite like a GS (or Dogue de Bordeaux :D ) but i would fear for my life ... or any body parts inwhich i need lol

He's not "fluffy".... ducklings and clouds and candyfloss are "fluffy"

He is most definitely FLOUUUFFY. Put that on your shirt and smoke it... well, would be rather a waste of a shirt - best not :D.

You'd have to be a twonk to say he was fat...any numpty (:D) can see he is utter flouuff!

Yeah Nicole it's rare you would see a workingline walking down the street, they tend to be a lot more drivey/need more attention/stimulation, not easy house pets, but as with all breeds, you get exceptions to the rule, there are drivier showlines and more relaxed working lines.
Most GSDs bred purely to be companions actually come from show lines, whether that be 'English' or 'German'.

I've had them all my life and have yet to be bitten or attacked (been nipped on
bum a few times, and all pups like to grab body parts :p) like any dog, it's how they're raised that's important :)

You do know he is always going to be called Floofy. We nicknamed a 6 week old pup Squirrel, very sweet but not quite so funny when you are shouting the name to attract (yes I know naughty me:o) an 8 year old bitch! Think the t shirt is a good idea, its bad enough he's black, never mind a long coat, of course he is a groenendael.

I agree that mahogany sounds very poncey, what is wrong with good old black/gold or black/tan. As CC says the drive of the working lines does mean they tend to just be used to produce working stock, if I mate Evie I will probably go for show lines, purely because pups will be going to companion homes, and working lines can be pretty full on. Mind you I am ticking dogs off the list at a great rate with the show lines, so it may never happen anyway.:p

'Sick 'im, Flouffy!'

'Kill, Flouffy!'

No, it's just not working as a big bad ass Schutzhund name;)

BTW, I'm sure 'sick 'im!' is not an official command, but I don't speak German:p

Ah, floofy is nice and tired today, thank God, and is not perforating my hands :p

Yeah, she is 11 weeks and only came off the boat that morning, doesn't she look bovvered?
I was saying, Floofy (he's five months next week, for comparison) won't be bodyslamming her and bullying her in a couple of weeks!!!!
