Dying A Black Saddle.

I have a black leather bates saddle, and there is slight wear and 'greying' on the stirrup leathers and at the bottom of the flaps under the stirrup leathers.
Would it be possible to dye these patches? What would I use? Any help appreciated

old military saddles (were talking 100yrs old sometimes!) dont look that good without it!

Boot polish all the way - Just make sure you buff it well, or your cream jods might stain a bit!
