Dying bridles...

...On sunday I dyed a (what I thought) was old plain noseband for working hunter from havanna to black with shoe polish, only to be told by mum that is was one of Eveneski's bridles and the one I was meant to dye was in the outhouse (and much nicer too

) Have I any chance of restoring her noseband to its minging colour, or do I have to offer her the nice one I havnt dyed yet as a peace offering?

I dyed a havanna bridle with shoe polish and after a week of use it was back to its origional colour, so maybe use it for a while and see if it fades

Dip a sponge in a mixture of hot water and fairy (as hot as you can manage) then squeeze and wipe it over the noseband. Keep doing this and it'll draw the colour out. You'll need to dry it properly and oil it well afterwards but it does work.
