Hi,

I have been riding since i was tiny but about 9mths - 3 years after having a little daughter, my knees have decided to tell me increasingly often that riding is not the best thing since sliced bread. I'm only 26 and somewhat disagree with what my knees are saying ... me and my nag are not ready to retire just yet!!! (plus i always thought he'd be retiring way before me!)

Knees sieze up a bit when i've been sitting in the evenings / when i wake up in the morning.
Also they decided to give me a bit of a nudge after doing some minor grid work on 2 horses for half hr each the other day

Any suggestions?

PS - I FEEL OLD!!! :( :(

Hm gotta admit my mum had a cartilage op when she was a teenager (millions of years ago :-P)

I'm not a fan of the doc's but i see ur point lol

Nobody fancy telling me that the doc is not worth the hassle and to get some supplement / do a clever exercise? lol

Def see your GP. I've had Knee probs since i was about 10 (am now 29), they seize up if i keep them bent for too long, or crouch etc... they never bother me riding, but this is because i ride long. They used to really ache if i rode at the 'correct' length... I now just get comments from people about to how long i ride, but i find it comfortable.

The siezing doesn't happen so quick that it'd be a problem say on a walking hack for an hour or so - it's more when i take weight on them while bent - worst one is bending down to floor level and they shout a bit when i'm nearly there lol.

Anyway enough feeling sorry for me n thanks for the kick towards the doc's :D

I'm like SA... I've had knee problems since a kid, and am also now 29, and I can't stress enough the importance of getting them seen to promptly. If you get something done (be it anti inflammatories, or physio or whatever) now the chances are it'll sort itself quicker.
