E&L insurance

They paid out when I lost Tiggy four years ago, but it was a long, drawn out and painful process.

They were better two years ago when Little Cob was at the AHT. Then again it would have been hard to be any worse.

A friend has a claim with them now. It's not going swimmingly.

Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. They too nine months and me threatening them with all sorts to pay out for my dog. Never again.

I have to say I think they have improved. I work in pet insurance and tbh we are having more problems with sainsburys than e&l who we haven't had any problems with in the last year or so :)

I've used them and although a bit slow to pay out they did and with no quibbles.

First was for my mare that had to be PTS for a broken leg, I had only been insured with them 5 weeks!! They paid vet fees and insured value which was over 2k

The second time was my geldings fractured knee, over £4k of vet fees

The third time was for my geldings laminitis, again over £4k's worth of vet fees with 2 different vets.

Only down side was it took nearly 4 months to get the money in each case and numerous phone calls.

The other problem was when I had the vet out for a snotty nose and E&L after paying out put an exclusion for his whole respiratory system and even after a year and a letter from a vet they wouldn't lift it. I think some other insurance companies lift exclusions?

However my latest vet said that he wouldn't go through E&L as they can be slow in paying so I've had to go with Petplan. Might be worth checking with your vet if using them is going to be an issue?

I've made a couple of claims, paid out no problem but one was rather slow. Also, very difficult to get through on the phone, I now ring the cancellation line and ask to be transferred.

I'm with Kbis and honestly could say they are amazing! Dealt with my vets direct and paid out within a week of recieving my paperwork! Not going anywhere else! X
