Ear Infection

Does anyone know the symptoms of an ear infection. My Mare has been headshaking recently due to hayfever, she has a full face mask and nose net. But for the last couple of days when I have turned her out she has stood by the gate with her head to one side and not moved for at least 10 minutes, she also turns a couple of circles and backs up to the gate.

I am wondering if she could have an ear infection, has anybody got any ideas.

Yes could possibly be an ear infection. When my pony suffered with balance problems i asked the vet if it could be an ear infection and he said no becasue he didnt have the symptoms. The symptoms he said were the ones you have said!
