I've noticed that Thomas keeps shaking his head and it looks like its his ears that are bothering him as he almost purposly slaps them against his head. He wont let me touch them to look in them properly but from what i can see they look ok and nothings seeping out of them. Im thinking possibly ear mites (not sure if horses get them) or waxy but does anyone have any ideas? His ears are quite hairy but not sure if this is significant. Thanks!

Horses do get ear mites and plaque in the ear and probably a whole raft of other ear problems! I wouldn't necessarily jump to the conclusion that violent shaking of his head so his ears slap back and forth is necessarily an ear problem though. He could have tooth problems, eye problems, a bang to his head or a million things that could make him shake his head. I'd get the vet out for a look to put your mind at rest.

Thank you

i didnt even think about it being anything else thank you for mentioning that. He is loosing a tooth at the moment so it could possibly be that.
