Ear scratching problem

My lhasa apso has recently been scratching her ears during the night, quite aggitatedly , she doesnt whine or anything but they do seem to be annoying her. I've looked in her ears and they dont look inflamed or red or dirty.

Yesterday i took her to the dog groomers incase her ears needed plucked but she said they were fine and looked normal to her.
I am planning on taking her to the vets if it keeps up but does anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be? She only ever does it at night time?
