Took 7 yr old springer girly to the vets tonight as she has developed a limp in one front leg. He thinks it is just a sprain and has given her pain relief for a couple of days, she is booked for an xray at my request on Wednesday in case there is little or no improvement. He did say that he felt there were signs of the beginnings of arthritis in both front shoulders though. She has slowed down a bit over the last year or so, doesnt run about quite so enthusiastically or for as long or as far as she used to although still a very happy dog and loves her walks. What is the best way to deal with it, joint supplements? Any other tried and tested treatments. He did suggest a tablet he could prescribe which I believe Petplan insurance would cover but if this is going to be long term Im not sure I want to medicate as such, would prefer a more natural approach if we can, but only if it works, her comfort is my priority
