On the yard i'm at we have to buy our bedding and forage from the YO. The main choices of bedding are flax, easibed or straw. I dont like straw so have been using flax as its the cheaper of the two.

There is a note to say flax will be going up from £6.78+VAT to £7.22+VAT per bale. So it is now the same price as Easibed.

Should I change to easibed? I'm not sure which is better/cleaner.

I wish prices of things would fall

I'm fed up of everything getting more expensive.

Yep it is dustfree. Larger flakes of shavings compared to flax. I'm not sure if i'll need to use more easibed than I do flax. At the mo i'm using one bale of flax a week.

a girl at my yard uses easibed for her pony and claims its dust free?? (her pony has asthma and dust allergies). her bed does always looks clean but she has found it not to be very absorbent!

I dont really like easibed a few ponies were on it at my yard and its not absorbent enough so the wee just ran out. Think it would work if you had a very thick deep litter type bed though. If it were me i would stay on the flax bedding

Never used flax so cant comment but i love easibed. My friends horse is on deep littered on it & it's so quick and easy to muck out (i do him a couple of times per week) Really thinking of putting mine onto it now instead of straw.

I love easibed and wouldn't use anything else now, unless I absolutely had to, but it takes some getting used to.
The bags are quite heavy, and you do need to make sure the bed is deep enough, but it's so easy to muck out once you've got the hang of it.

I use it about 5in deep with banks on rubber matting, and muck out fully every day, and I use 1 bale a week or less, unless it's a REALLY dirty horse.
