I need to know where you look for forthcoming events/comps/clinics etc...

I am promoting activites for the ExRacehorseClub and only really know my immediate area...

Ive thought of H&H, horsedates and my own very local saddlers but I need to reach a bigger audience than just the Bury area...

Please can you tell me the name of any stores that you regularly use for schedules etc...

Any other ideas on where else to advertise VERY gratefully recieved!

Thankies!

Maybe try Ingatestone Saddlery near Chelmsford after all we are not that far from you really. They usually have a whole load of schedules in their shop.

The EDP do an Equine suppliment that lists shows for the year and club address's and contact details. Would be worth getting something in there I think.

I have never herd of the ex-racers club, what do you do. I have an kentuck ex-race horse so might be interested.....

In answer to you question what about putting details on the notice board of some of the more well know competition venues, ie Manor Farm in cambs.

What about contacting local riding clubs- Deben riding club, High Fen, Colne Valley and Tendring Hundred spring to mind. I think most of them have websites too.......

Absolute Horse, Free adds, notice board in Horse Reqs. Very int in ex-racer classes as we have one, let me know where you advertise classes

Essex Rider is one of the best Magazines, followed by Absolute horse for diary dates (they are quite reasonable to advertise in too)
Then for websites, much as above
http://www.theridingdiary.co.uk
http://www.horsedates.co.uk
I don't use http://www.equineaffairs.co.uk because you have to pay, but apparently it is really good.
When I moved to the area, I had no idea either and did go into Ingatestone, where they have a stand by the tills usually full of schedules. Taylors of Sudbury have a notice board, as do most. Perhaps google search more tackshops and go and see if their local knowledge can help you?
There are lots of riding clubs in this area too, like Braintree, Ingatestone and Blackmore... (a little south of you but most people tend to travel a bit, but these clubs are usually happy to help publisize your event to their members.)
