I presume they are just out, and I think the chap that inveneted them lives in Lincolnshire, hence why 4dobbin has them, as they are based in lincolnshire to.
I saw the demonstration at Lincoln County Show. I thought they were a cracking idea till I saw the end result. Looks very poor IMHO. It makes the mane look bulky. From a distance it looks ok but close to shocking.I think it still looks a hell of a lot better to pliat and sew or use plaiting bands. Also I dont think it takes any less time than doing it that way rather than using these things.
My yard owner got sent some as a trial. Initially she loved the idea as they are very quick - but you are right close up they do not look like plaits at all and the actual "easy plait" devices themselves do look very bulky.
You thread the mane through the centre, twist the device and then wrap the "easy plait" around the outside of the "plait" so it's not very discreet.
Needless to say for dressage my YO chose to plait properly!
Also you only get 12 in a pack. For the money I think they are rather expensive.
