Hi
One of mine is lame but refuses to box rest (she's had a lot of vet treatment in her life so has reached her limit).
She's out in a small area of her field - and I'm thinking of putting Easyboot Rxs on her fronts - any experience/suggestions?
I tried one on her this morning and she was pretty unphased by it, but didn't seem to want me to take it back off.
She does have rubber grass mats in the field (there's no grass though) but isn't particularly choosing to stand on them despite being lame.
Any tips/ideas?

I used to put RX's on my old cushings mare. They worked well and she was turned out with her 2 children and they all moved around a lot. If I see her getting in the slightest sore I will put them on again. Brilliant boots, the horse can wander around anywhere in them. I also put them on her in winter if it is very cold to keep her feet warm.

Try to keep the feet and the inside of the boot as dry as possibly. I washed the pad daily and dried it and I also sprinkled the inside with athlete's foot powder. I have left them on 24/7 when she was lame with the cushings and it gave her the freedom to be yarded. She was very unhappy stabled. In an ideal world I would turn out in the day booted and bring in overnight with the boots off. Mine is on soft rubber matting when stabled. That situation gave her a very happy life and a lot of comfort.

Brilliant boots, I had a retired, cushings Tb who lost quarter of his hoof wall after a massive abscess when it was winter and the fields were filthy & muddy. He hated being stabled & was prone to ulcers so i tried to keep him out as much as possible. I had 2 of these so I could wash one & get it dry while he had the other on. I did still have him in at night to give him a break from wearing it.
