Try as I might, I cannot find any good info on these saddles. The Hamilton s/o balance saddle sounds comfy but it has a half tree which I'm not familiar with. Also has low cantle, which I need. The Easytrek I'm not sure about - in a pic it looks as though the cantle's low but not certain. This is for a VERY wide cob. Can anyone help please?

I have an Easytrek GP treeless for my 15.3 very wide cob and it's fantastic! Really comfy and great for jumping etc. I put a Polypad under it (as recommended) and my boy goes lovely in it :-)

I have a Balance soft option up in the loft, the original felt panelled one. The later versions had leather panels (the felt was actually more expensive). They discontinued them because of the competition from treeless (most of which were considerably cheaper).

It fits wide horses very well, but it is very very wide to sit on, wider than any of the treeless that I've tried. You kind of get used to it, but the fact that it's now in the loft might tell you something! My favourite thing about it was that is was so stable, I've had a lot of bother keeping treeless saddles fastened securely on barrel shaped natives.
