Have started to put her in her crate whilst we eat, She normally will get fed at the same time, but its gone in 0.2 secs !

Shes not a fat dog and certaintly not skinny, Healthy coat and been wormed recently .

So why is she acting like shes been starved ??

More than likely just the staffy in her eh ??

What's wrong? Sounds just like me

My two go mad for food, it's the only way I can get them working, but like you say, if anyone saw them you'd think I starved them!

She looks great in terms of weight and condition, I have to say.

We have a lab who is literaly OCD about food. It's all she ever thinks about. She's go for miles of walks and she has no interest in anything other than scavenging. Apart from the exercise there is no point taking her new places as she's not interested - she's much prefer to go round the local haunts where she knows there's sometimes food.

She runs off regularly to rummage through the local shops bins. Although she is very well trained and obedient she can't be trained using any form of food as she is so obsessive she can't concentrate on what you're asking.

When she goes out for night time walks she needs to be muzzles or on a lead as she just dissapears into bushes to eat.

When we take her places and warn people how obsessive she is they don't really understand, until she's up on the counters eating the food, she goes through the compost heap eating scraps, she rummages in the veg basket and eats the raw potatoes and onions, that kind of thing. There is many times she's ripped Xmas presents open and eaten what's inside.

It's really sad

She is such a lovely dog, LOVES everyone, not a snappy or cross bone in her body and is so obedient. She doesn't even seem to enjoy eating what she finds, it's just an addiction. She's 14 now, totally deaf and getting a little stiff. She however isn't even slightly overweight, due to a lot of effort and exercise!

And she's not stupid - she learnt that sitting gazing at people eating doesn't get her anything other than sent out the room. So instead she skulks under the table or just behind you, waiting........

Last week my border terrier managed to trick every1 in the house into feeding him by looking very pathetic, digging in his feed bowl and standing in the kitchen looking sad. He was given 2 full days worth of feed and was still looking for more.
The little fatty, He is meant to be on several small feeds a day that we are slowly bulking up because of his colitus. He obviously prefers the food he was on before!
