Eating Beds..

What do you recommend doing to stop your horse eating a straw bed! Just changed over from shavings as it's far too expensive and my gelding is really dirty but he has decided straw is nicer than haylage.
Tips please

i dont, if he wants to then fair enough, He is fed hay not haylage, perhaps swap the haylage for hay? Straw is way cheaper than shavings and a lot warmer. xx

I tried loads of different things but gave up in end as she was eating around 3 bales of straw a night on top of hay which she had left over. Tried stuff you buy from tack shop, washing up liquid mixed with water, loads of hay nets, toys in stable, and everything else people on yard said to try. Was spending more on a straw bed so saved money on shavings in the end.
