Eating Poo

I think this was covered just recently but I never took a lot of notice

and now when I need to know about it I can't find the link

Can anyone shed any light on why horses eat horse poo? Are they lacking in some particular mineral or something?

Excellent.....thanks so much.

This is an 11yr old who has been on box rest since April and just went into the field last week. So that probably explains the problem. His owner has bought him a general mineral supplement.
