Has anyone ever bought any bargains off eBay?
I have!
I onec bought a brown/black looking fleece rug for 99p as it was dirty looking and the pics werent great. When it came I got it home and it turned out to be a lilac WeatherBeeta fleece worth £29.99!
I was very impressed :D

So go on...what have you bought off eBay that was a bargain? :D

A new with tags etc leather Bates Isabell Werth Dressage saddle, with knee blocks, cover etc. £700. It was brown but I wanted brown,:) At the time they were £1500, now they are £1995. I use it all the time.

I got my fave joules 3in1 waterproof for 40 quid, not as good a bargain as yours, I love a bad photo and poor description :-)

EBay has gone to pot recently, when I want to buy something its always nearly full price, and when I want to sell it makes something like 99p!

This happens to me all the time. I sold some jeans for £15, they cost £300 new and has only been worn a few times (I was in denial that a 36" leg would ever work for me and they couldnt be turned up!!) Everyone I sell to seems to get a great bargain but anything I buy seems to go up to normal prices!!

My best was a 1950 hay baler, it was £500 we drove it home straight into the field and made 400 bales of hay without dropping one - paid for itself that afternoon and then work perfectly for another 4 summers, with little maintenance making probably 3000+ bales in total before it went pop and it sold for £150 in scrap.
I don't think we'd have got a contractor to bale for 10p a bale!!

I bought a brand new hackamore to try on my horse; I think I got it for £8.99. He went horribly in it, so I decided to clean it up and sell it on only to find out that it was a Jefferies hackamore worth over £60!

I bid on a tweed showing jacket. Photo on ebay was small and dark and not really clear to see what colour the jacket was. I took a punt on it and paid about £25 if i remember rightly.

When it arrived it was a pristine condition stunning green and blue Caldene tweed worth £100 - I was very pleased with myself! :D

:eek::eek::eek::eek: £300 jeans....!

I haven't ever bought something from the auction side of it, but would do having heard some stories here!

However, I use the eBay shops loads for horse gear - have got some good quality jods for around 14 pounds and a heavyweight rug for 40.

WILL YOU ALL STOP IT PLEASE?

You have now made me go on to Ebay and bid on three jackets, all with small bad photos, in the hope they come good. Bet I win them all and they are awful... and YOU MADE ME DO IT!!!

I bought a pair of "hardly used" dressage leathers recently for £4.70 and when they arrived, they are stamped Jeffries - really ARE hardly used and are worth £63 according to their webby! Sadly they are too long for me so will be going back on ebay.... correctly described this time! ;)

Got a lovely set of chain harrows on their own little trailer for £67!

Perspective was wiere on the photo, which made them look like toy ones, and description was poor, but they're the business, and in lovely condition.

In trying to find a saddle to fit my daughter's flat backed welsh A I purchased 5 different saddles.

Each time I resold them I made between £20 and £50 profit!!

Found one that fitted eventually!

A brand new set of trizone tendon and fetlock bots-£25
rambo high neck lighweight turnout (was missing a surcingle but was still a bargin after the repair cost)-£8
thermatex-£12
brown leather fetlock boots, barely used-£5.00
various jumpers from topshop etc-all around £3-£8
2 x tri zone dressage saddlecloths-£26 (not too bad considering the price of one saddlecloth!)
brand new sherwood forest gilet-£7.00

Not quite ebay but it was originally advertised on ebay ;) A then 2 year old ifor williams trailer that had been barn stored. It had only been used once or twice and was pristine, it still smelt new! that cost 2k

I've had tons of bargains on eBay over the years, but one of my favourites recently is a pair of Lemetex stirrup leathers that had only been used for turnout classes. They're as good as new!

I also pick bits up for a couple of quid on eBay.

I got a Sabre bridle in lovely condition for £27 then a dainty sabre browband for £10 which makes a lovely ensemble and is a fraction of the new price.

I got a Mark Todd saddle cloth for a few pounds.

Not to mention all the non-horsey bargains!

When we first moved up here from darn sarth we needed a dining table. We saw a listing for an extendable light oak table with six chairs for £4.99, no bids, ending in 20 minutes, but there was no picture.

As it was only five miles down the road we bid and won.

When the OH went to collect it we saw what a bargain it was - absolutely lovely and in perfect condition. He sheepishly handed over a fiver, and the seller solemnly handed him 1p change.

I've got most of my best horsey bargains off Preloved though - two horses, each for less than £500, two saddles for £100 each, several rugs, and a Myler bit for £15.

I went to eBay for a high withered saddle cloth, won one with a grubby greyish pic for £3.50 + £2 postage. Arrived in the post in fantastic condition, just very cobwebby.
Stuck it in the wash and it was a pristine white GFS one, just happened to match my saddle and has done us proud through many dressage classes and outings :)

I bought a beautiful event saddle for £500 direct from a saddler on eBay (think they are going bust) price tag on it is £1499. And, it even fits the horse. How lucky was that?!:D

I recently won a lovely high waisted pair of shorts, in candy pink colour, they were some sort of designer, and turned out to be worth over £60, I got them for £2.99, and they are brand new with tags :)
Horsey bargains, a very nice, well padded, lovely colour saddle cloth by professional, brand new with tags in packaging £4.99
A brand new full set of Norton Pro tendon and fetlock boots, still in packaging, £8.99. All because they were at the time, a funny colour. Now they are very trendy, gold and orange :D
A brand new masta black heavyweight combo, worth £150, I got it for £40 :)
Can't think of any more bargains at the moment but i'm sure there's more as I spend a lot of time on ebay :o
