Thought I'd post this seeing as I mostly see horror stories and tbh, I was a little nervous selling my saddle on there. But I can confirm that there really are genuine people out there and I've just sold mine to a lovely girl and had a very smooth transaction :) Just received confirmation from her that she's received it and all is well, and also very pleased that the 48h delivery I paid for that took less than 24h, so added bonus!

Plus I am now on the saddle hunt so don't stop using ebay, I know there are some dodgy people out there but as usual, I feel it's the minority ruining it for the majority, but genuine buyers do exist and ebay can work really well when it involves honest parties :)

As long as you sent it signed for and of course she doesn't now try it on the horse, find it doesn't fit and claim it's not as described, everything should be plain sailing then.

Most ebay transactions ARE good, it's just that there are some people who haven't read the rules or have read them and decided it doesn't apply to them and those are the ones who spoil it for others.

I've bought and sold several saddles through ebay and although I've had my share of unpleasant surprises I've also had mostly very good experiences.

I bought a saddle off of Ebay not so long ago and was delighted with the whole transaction. Trouble is you do only hear the negative side of Ebay and not the myriads of successful transactions that take place. I'm still really cautious though as you just never quite know.

I love ebay!! <3

Of course there are a few people causing problems but usually ebay are helpful and help sort things out. I have used it 30-odd times and have only had a problems once. Reported it and it was sorted very swiftly. It wouldn't put me off using it at all, the positives far outweigh the negatives.

I have used eBay on a number of occasions to buy horsey and non-horsey stuff, including 2 new saddles, both of which were perfect fits. I have only once had a minor problem but it was resolved quickly in my favour. I have always used Paypal. I would steer clear of anything that looked dodgy though and would always stay within the rules to ensure I was covered. I have saved a small fortune and now own saddlery, in particular, that I couldn't have afforded at retail prices.

I sell and buy quite a bit and have never had a horror story.

I always send items signed for, recorded delivery so the buyer can't say they haven't received the item as you can track it and see their signature online :)

(I tend to only sell new stuff so they can't complain about the condition)

Ive sold a few used saddles on ebay. One wasnt so long ago, didnt fit my cob anymore so It went to a good home, lady was chuffed to bits.I sent one to Ireland last year, again she was delighted.
There are good and bad on ebay. Just make sure you ALWAYS send recorded.
